MapleWalk Garden

MapleWalk is the private garden of Lib Jones and Tom Nunnenkamp in the SouthPark area of Charlotte, NC. While the garden derives its name from the over 90 different varieties of Japanese maples, MapleWalk is also known for its collection of dogwoods, redbuds, conifers, camellias, and colorful herbaceous perennials. This was a first for me to see "Dudley," our downy woodpecker, sharing our finch feeder with "Gina," our goldfinch! What was Dudley doing on a finch feeder of all things!! Maybe he was showing off for Gina to show her ... "Hey, I can eat Nyjer seed just like you!"
