MapleWalk Garden

MapleWalk is the private garden of Lib Jones and Tom Nunnenkamp in the SouthPark area of Charlotte, NC. While the garden derives its name from the over 90 different varieties of Japanese maples, MapleWalk is also known for its collection of dogwoods, redbuds, conifers, camellias, and colorful herbaceous perennials. When I was out in the garden this afternoon, I noticed that the Aristolochia fimbriata (White Veined Dutchman's Pipe) was being chewed on. Looking closer, I found that the Pipevine Swallowtail (Blue Swallowtail) caterpillars had arrived! Hungry little guys!
