MapleWalk Garden

MapleWalk is the private garden of Lib Jones and Tom Nunnenkamp in the SouthPark area of Charlotte, NC. While the garden derives its name from the over 90 different varieties of Japanese maples, MapleWalk is also known for its collection of dogwoods, redbuds, conifers, camellias, and colorful herbaceous perennials. Platycodon grandiflorus 'Sentimental Blue' (Balloon flower) is a fun plant to share with children. It gets its name from the unopened buds which swell up prior to opening and resemble little hot air balloons. Children enjoy squeezing the flower buds and making them "pop!'
